The Dolphin swims rapidly in open water, usually in small aggregations of one or two bulls and numerous females. They are often in search of food under sargassum floats and any other floating debris such as logs, palates, buckets, etc. Fishermen catch them by trolling artificial baits such as spoons, plugs, jigs or other natural baits. Commonly the first dolphin hooked is brought to the boat but is left in water to attract the rest of the school, so that they can be caught as well, usually by casting. Dolphins can display the most beautiful iridescent colors, but are lost soon after death.
