Also known as the "Silver King", the Tarpon is indeed the king of sport fish. They are big water game fish, and they are often seen offshore rolling in schools in search of food. Tarpon can make spectacular leaps out of the water in an effort to throw the hook. This painting was inspired by a fishing trip off Key West, Florida, where I spotted hundreds of Tarpon feeding and rolling.
