Snook are found in shallow waters, estuaries, lagoons, canals, and fresh water. This piece, "Along the jetty" was inspired by a recent day of fishing and snorkeling. A jetty is a structure of piles, stones, etc., built to protect a harbor or water inlet. This particular area is a very popular fishing spot. While I was snorkeling I noticed not only the fish in their feeding ritual, but scattered tackle along the bottom where fishing lines had snagged and broken off.
